A QR-Code is a form of two-dimensional bar or matrix code which was created in 1994 by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave. The creators of the code wanted to produce a rapid decode and hence its name 'QR', Quick Response. Though QR Codes are not normally used in many parts of the world at the moment, they are very common in Japan where they are the most popular form of two dimensional code. They are regularly used in conjunction with mobile phones for rapid access to specific sites on the net where the codes can be used to store URLs or addresses among other things.
