It used to be that the words, "Thank you for shopping with us at XYZ Company. Have a nice day!" were pleasantly spoken and happily delivered whenever you made a purchase or used a service. Customer service was something that companies required that their employees take classes in and practiced on a daily basis. If there was ever cause for concern that customer service was not being administered properly, companies had the option of retraining the employee or finding a person better suited for the job. However, quality customer service in these economic times seems to be more the exception than the normal course of behavior. Those companies who provide customer service now seem to be more consumed with getting rid of you than they are of helping you and thanking you for choosing to do business with them. It is as if is a bother to take your money! Yes, quality customer service is quickly becoming a lost form of communication.
