Top Speaker Says: Beware of Bogus Customer Service Awards |
I was picking up a prescription at my pharmacy when I spotted a self-serving poster that proclaimed that a nearby facility was Voted Foothill's Best Hospital.
As if that distinction weren't enough, the line beneath that one puffed, 3 Years In A Row!
Well, that's impressive, isn't it?
Wait.
Back-up a minute.
To my knowledge, the hospital to which the banner refers is the ONLY one in the Foothills; the only game in town, so to speak.
So the line could have read: It Ain't Much, But It's The Best We've Got! and it would have been truthful, says Dr. Gary S. Goodman, President of Customersatisfaction.com, best-selling author of "Monitoring, Measuring and Managing Customer Service," and top keynote speaker at conferences and conventions, worldwide.
Consumers are being deluged with false and misleading claims that beg for more scrutiny, according to this popular radio and TV commentator and customer service leader.
